Boxcar Coffee Roasters / Case Study

In 2010, dojo4 partnered with Boxcar Coffee Roasters to create their visual identity. Our designers joined Cara and Vaj in an iterative process that refined their vision of Boxcar. We listened. We drew pictures. We talked about their dreams. And we built an entire hive of B's.

The multitude of concepts finally converged into a single brand image that communicates the identity of the business: In Cara's words, "playful but sophisticated." It's on every bag of coffee Boxcar sells. It's on the shelves at the most discriminating shops and in the grinders at some of Boulder's best cafes. And — to our delight — it's two blocks down the street from dojo4, up high where everyone can see.
